Release day for Under His Command by Kristine Cayne and giveaway

Today is the release day for a very sexy new book by the incredibly talented Kristine Cayne.

Check it out and leave a comment with your email address to win an ebook copy of Romance In The Rain, which includes a prequel to Under His Command  :)

A firefighter desperate to save his failing marriage earns the trust—and the sexual submission—of his controlling wife in the most pleasurable of ways.

After an explosive one-night stand results in pregnancy, Jamie Caldwell is thrilled to marry the perfect foil to his Dom side. But when his submissive wife starts cringing every time he gives a command, Jamie shackles his dark desires. A bout of rough, frenzied reunion sex makes him wonder if now he should free the Dom he’s kept in chains and teach Erica the joys of submission and sexual surrender.

Erica Caldwell secretly loved every sinful thing Jamie did to her on their first night together. However, terrified she’ll become a codependent doormat like her mother, she repeatedly rejects Jamie’s dominance, despite craving the kind of release only he can give her—the release that comes from yielding to Jamie’s every demand.
Hoping that the trust required by BDSM will help them rebuild their faith in each other, Jamie and Erica embark on a journey of sexual exploration. But is it too late to repair their crumbling marriage?

Book Two

Hey Guys,

Just a quick check in as i am busily writing the second book in the series.
I've had a lot of people asking for book two, which is very very exciting!!
I'm wrapped that so many people are anticipating this :)

But i wanted to keep you all updated with the progress along the way so you know when to look out for it.

We are about half way through at this stage. I had hoped and thought it would be done much earlier than this, but as it happens with life, things get in the way and time seems to be flying a lot faster these days!

The other factor is that i was having a hard time trying to get the characters and story to go in the way i wanted it to. I could have just pushed on and published something that i wasn't happy with but that's not the kind of writer i am and honestly, my fans (you guys!) deserve much better than that!

So, as i said it wont be a ridiculous wait for the book, but i want to make sure it is the best it can possibly be before it hits the virtual shelves.

As always,
Happy Reading xx

Review - The Forgotten by Claudia Carozza

The Forgotten The Forgotten by Claudia Carozza
Book Two in The Barronlands Trilogy

Genre: YA Distopian
Format: Ebook

My Rating: 5 stars!

Synopsis: Hazel's job at the Antioch didn't work out at all like she had planned. After a daring escape and one very risky delivery of the first baby born in years, she's still holding on to the hope of a better future. Out of the Antioch and on the run, who can Hazel turn to for help and can they really be trusted? In the second book of the Barronlands Trilogy, relationships are tested and even more secrets are revealed. Hazel tries to put the pieces together, hoping everything doesn't fall apart. Will she be able to hold it all together or will there be those who slip through the cracks?

My Review: I've been anticipating the release of the second installment in this series after the first chapter, The Twenty left me wanting more of this engrossing story.

And was i disappointed?
Not even close! I expected more of the same intoxicating story telling and i got it.

The Forgotten picks up where we left off with Hazel and the gang, who have just escaped The Antitoch Centre and have sought refuge at her uncles house.

Hazel has found herself in the middle of a delicious love triangle with the super spunk, Luka and the hottie from before her time at The Antitoch, Shane.
Usually there is a clear winner for me who the heroine should be with but i honestly cant decide this time!!

The story is written with such real engaging emotions between Hazel and both the boys that its an almost impossible decision to make!

Hazel becomes more of a risk taker, leaving behind her safety girl approach to life and discovers a whole new side that she didnt know existed.

The stakes are higher this time and the story moves along at a great pace.

All in all a thoroughly engaging and intoxicating read that i couldn't put down!

Review - Ransom by Emily Guido

"Ransom" ("The Light-Bearer Series" #2)

Ransom by Emily Guido
Book two in The Light Bearer series

Format: Ebook
Genre: Paranormal Romance

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Synopsis: Ransom is the Second Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series" which is the continuation of Tabbruis and Charmeine's romantic and turbulent love story and mission on Earth to battle Lucifer's minions!

Tabbruis and Charmeine’s life at the ‘Castle Charmeine’ is blissful until the reality of ruling the Hellish Blood-Hunters' Elder Council hits them in the face. Then, as a one-two punch, Lord Cromwell, one of the most deadly and powerful Blood-Hunters on Earth has escaped the Elder Council Prison! Lord Cromwell sends a beautiful agent to cause trouble for Tabbruis and Charmeine! He also desperately wants something Tabbruis has!

There are more surprises in store for the inhabitants of the 'Castle Charmeine'.

Will Tabbruis and Charmeine, two star-crossed and ill-fated lovers ever be at rest? Could this mean the end of harmony for Tabbruis and Charmeine’s family?

My Review: After reading Charmeine and falling in love with all the characters, I couldn't wait to read the second one, and Ransom did not disappoint.

Filled with twists and turns that you did not see coming, i was held enthralled from the time i started the novel.

Emily's style of writing is different and I love it! It has a way of making you feel like you are there with them. She describes thing in detail but not in a way where you wish the author would get to the point.

Charmeine and Tabbruis' relationship deepens and is put to the test in a serious way!

The historic references are amazing! The richness it adds as the characters reminisce what it was like at certain times, the titanic for example left me with goosebumps. It's almost like Emily was there with the way she wrote it.

And of course, being angels you can work in some pretty cool references...Bathsheba for example ;) Love to hate her!

Cannot wait to read Conundrum!!

To find out more about Emily check out my review for Charmeine.
Book available for purchase on all major online bookstores.

Exciting news!!

We have some exciting things going on with Immortal Prophecy!

After reading all the reviews, you guys loved the story, which as authors makes us extremely happy! But the editing needed another go. We listened and took it on board.

As we speak, Immortal Prophecy is being re-edited and whipped into shape for a re-release with bonus material! The bonus material includes the prophecy and adds more to the story line with a group of people that will  be found to help Alessandra in her quest to destroy the evil vampire,Vincent.

We have also included a sneak peek at book two in the Immortal Prophecy Saga. The first chapter of the new book will be available to read at the end of book one.

For everyone that read the book in it's original condition, I will make the bonus material available once Immortal Prophecy has been released again, on this blog.  The page will be called spoilers so that no-one wanders over there by accident and spoils the story for themselves.

In addition to the new material and edits, we have asked the very lovely and wonderfully talented, Regina Wamba from maeidesign.com to design us a new cover!! Kay and I are hopelessly in love with the final product and we hope you will be too! The new cover will be revealed to all on this blog at the same time the new and improved book is available.

Previously, Immortal Prophecy has only been available on Amazon.com.  This will be changing as well!  We are making it available on all major ebook retailers! Amazon, Nook, Smashwords, IBookstore etc.

We want as many people to be able to read it as possible, so that everyone can hopefully love these characters as much as we do.

A new cover, new material, edit and re-release plus being available on all major retailer websites is something we are pretty excited about!!

All of this will be happening in the second half of June!

Review - The Twenty by Claudia Carozza

The Twenty

The Twenty by Claudia Carozza
Book One in The Barronlands Trilogy
Format: EBook
Genre: Young Adult

My Rating: 5 out 5 Stars

Synopsis: Imagine living in a time when infertility runs rampant and babies are no longer being born. The world is crumbling around you as people start talking about the end. This is the world Hazel DeSales grew up in. After her mother dies from a mysterious cancer, Hazel finds herself taking care of her younger sister Netty and alcoholic father.
It's not until twenty women, known as the Elect, become pregnant all across the Barronlands when things start looking up. Hazel and Netty apply for jobs working as domestics in the Antioch Center where the Elect will be taken care of and protected. Hazel feels change in the air and her outlook for the future starts to improve.

But she soon learns that change is not without consequence. Rumors are brewing about a government cover up and Hazel finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. So begins the unraveling of secrets that uncover things from her past and rattle her future. Hazel is determined to seek the truth and promises herself to do whatever it takes to succeed.

My Review: The story begins with Hazel DeSales, who is a young woman older than her years. She had to raise her younger sister, Netty when her mother died of the affliction - cancer - and her father became a complete drunk.
Bartering and selling items has become a way of life for Hazel to keep her sister and her fed, clothed and of course supplying her father  with alcohol.

The scene of the story reminds me of The Hunger Games, as in this post-apocalyptic setting, the remaining people and towns have been divided into wards from one to eight.

Ward One is very ghetto like and definitely not a place you would like to live, whereas Ward Eight is the polar opposite and is where all the people with money and the "Officials" reside. The further you get from eight the worse it gets. Hazel lives in seven.

After meeting a young man named Shane, on her mission to Ward One to purchase a gun for protection, Hazel begins to find some happiness in an otherwise bleak existence.

In the beginning of the novel, Hazel and Netty apply for Jobs at the Antitoch Centre which is in Ward Eight and part of the officials headquarters. After not hearing anything back, she forgets about it. As jobs are scarce, Hazel didn't think they had much of a chance anyway.

But as luck would have it, both of the girls secure jobs there. Netty in the cafeteria and Hazel as a Nurse taking care of one of the Elect. The Elect are the 20 girls who have fallen pregnant.

This is where the story really starts to unfold as twists and turns, secrets and death threats begin to play out.

Hazel meets some wonderful people at the Antitoch Centre and a very handsome young man named Luka...The love triangle begins!

Upon realizing that Hazel has no choice but to fight back, the group begin to concoct a plan to bring them down.

This isn't a book that i would normally read, but I'm so glad i did! I absolutely loved it and cant wait to read the next book in The Barronlands Trilogy.

Claudia Carozza has shown herself to a be promising new Indie Author and I recommend giving her novel a read.

Available on Amazon and B&N.

Review - Threads of Betrayal by Monica Koldyke Miller

Threads of Betrayal

Threads of Betrayal by Monica Koldyke Miller
Format: EBook
Genre: Historical Romance
My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

My Review:  Threads of betrayal is the intricate and engaging story of Reagan and Amanda set in America just before the civil war began.

Reagan and Amanda have a strong attraction from the start which only increases throughout the novel, but as always, they are plagued by lies, obstacles, betrayal and of course...a scandal!

There are an array of wonderful, warm and thoroughly delightful characters that you cant help but fall in love with and of course the scoundrels and villains that you love to hate!

I loved Amanda. She was lovable from the start but she really grew throughout the novel, and found herself in many situations where she had to prove she was made of some tough stuff. Particularly when the gruff, but adorable, Hogan enters the scene.

Reagan was incredibly handsome and definitely roguish but that added to his allure. You can tell from the start he wasn't a bad man, he was simply trying to prove himself worthy of his fathers trust in the family business. But he manages to get himself into quite a pickle, and in turn has to marry Amanda for her dowry. But does he just want her dowry or does he yearn for more?

There are so many twists and turns, many of which i didn't see coming. I was engrossed and even though this was a long novel, i found myself wishing that it wouldn't end!

The cliffhanger was awesome and left me wanting more and more!
I have no idea how this is going to turn out in the end, but i cannot wait to find out.

Monica has penned a brilliant, engaging and delightful debut novel!

Review - Witchy Witchy by Penelope King

Witchy, Witchy

Witchy Witchy by Penelope King
Book 1 in The Spellbound Trilogy

Format: Ebook
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal Romance

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

Witchy Witchy is a cute and enchanting coming of age story for the lead character, Callista.

The story begins with her and her dad, moving from the south to live with an eccentric rich old lady, Ana. Her dad is there under the pretense of being the live in handy man, but Ana has secret motives and wants Callista by her side.

The motives aren't at all bad, but I wont spoil the story by going into detail.

Callista discovers she is a witch, and begins to realize that everything she has been able to do, doesn't make her strange or weird. She is simply a magical being.

Shortly after arriving at her new home, she meets the completely swoon-worthy and hunky, Nicholas. Callista feels an incredibly strong attraction to him, but he disappears for awhile.

She starts school, makes two very nice friends and discovers what life can be like, as opposed to what it was.

This series is very different from the demon one, in the sense that this is very lighthearted and no where near as dark, but i found it to be equally addictive and just as wonderful!

Can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happens with Callista, Nicholas and the rest of the gang.

Character Interview - James Carlisle

Hey Guys,

Our gorgeous and very swoon-worthy leading man, James Carlisle is feeling pretty chuffed with himself at the moment.  He has just landed his first interview with the lovely Alana, from The Dark Obsession Chronicles.

Head on over to - http://darkobsessionchronicles.blogspot.com/2012/04/interview-with-highlander-james-of.html#more - and find out what this Immortal has to say for himself.

If you have read the novel already and are dying to know what the prophecy actually says, then you are in for a treat! For the first time, James has allowed the prophecy to be available for general public viewing. Pretty nice of him, huh!

For anyone planning on reading Immortal Prophecy, James may have let a few things slip that would be considered spoilers. The man just doesn't seem to understand discretion :)

Review - Fire with Fire by Penelope King

Fire with Fire by Penelope King
Book 2 in the Demonblood series
Genre: YA Paranormal
Format: EBook

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!
My Review: Fire with Fire continues two months after we left off at the end of book one, A Demon Made Me Do It.

Kieron has been gone for two months, and Lucky/Liora have not heard from him.
They go about their lives as normal, trying to keep it together until he returns.

In this installment, we see two new characters enter the story.
A new love interest, Tristan and his sister Cassie become involved in Liora's life.

Bones consoles Lucky during the night hours.

Action and adventure start when things happen, that I wont say because I dont want to ruin the story.

What can I say other than WOW!! I absolutely loved the first book, but this one really rocked!

I sat down intending to read a few chapters and read the whole thing.
I was captivated from the start and couldnt wait to see what was going to happen.

A few things I saw coming, but a lot I didnt!

Hanging for the next book because i cant wait to see what happens!!
On a side note, what a gorgeous cover!!
If you haven't read book 1 - A Demon Made Me Do It - read this before reading Fire with Fire.
